Who built Jam and why?
Jam was created by a 14-year-old developer from Kerala, India, with a passion for making programming more intuitive, expressive, and enjoyable for beginners — especially younger students.
Instead of learning through abstract syntax and intimidating environments, the idea behind Jam was to build a friendly, Python-style language that teaches real-world programming concepts while remaining readable and fun.
The creator is also interested in compilers, entrepreneurship, and design — and has built Jam from scratch, including the syntax parser, compiler (Jam → JS), docs, IDE, and the website you’re seeing right now.
Jam is still growing — and there's more to come. The goal is to make it easier for kids and teens around the world to get into software development without being overwhelmed.
